The Miss World 2012 contest concluded in the Ordos, China amidst a carnival-like atmosphere as the Miss China PR, Wenxia Pu was crowned as the 62nd Miss World. Miss Wales Sophie Elizabeth Moulds was judged as the first runner-up while Miss Australia Jessica Michele Kahawaty was the 2nd runner up.
The extremely gorgeous Wenxia Pu was wearing a large blue color gown as she walked down the ramp with a deserved Miss World crown, which was placed on her by the reigning Miss World, Ivian Sarcos from Venezuela.
After the contestants were narrowed down to top 7 from the top 15, there was Miss India Vanya Mishra, along with the Miss Jamaica, Miss South Sudan, Miss Australia, Miss Brazil, Miss China PR and Miss Wales. The 15 semifinalists from which they were chosen consisted of the beauty queens from India, Mexico, Australia, Jamaica, China PR, South Sudan, England, Wales, Spain, Brazil, United States, Netherlands, Philippines, Kenya and Indonesia.
The wonderful show put up by the Mongolian Warriors kick started the evening. It is known as one of the most talented performing art of China; in between, the beauty queens from 116 countries were introduced including India’s Vanya Mishra. The anchors Jason Cook and Klass Myleene were present on the stage and there was a thunderous applause as they introduced the judges as well as the contestants.
The Miss India Vanya Mishra wasn’t able to break into the top three but she did win two subtitles, the Miss World Beauty with a Purpose 2012 and Miss Multimedia 2012. The Miss China PR too won the Miss Talent 2012, while Miss World 2012 beach beauty was Miss Wales. Miss South Sudan grabbed the Miss World Top Model and the Miss World Sport Woman 2012 went to Miss Sweden.
Keeping with the Miss World tradition, the Miss World flag was then passed on to the City of Bali in Indonesia, the next country to host the event.
