The company launches a completely new, never seen before range of products called “imarble”.  Mr.Manoj Agarwal – C.M.D, Qutone along with all the esteemed Directors were completely elated and proud to be unveiling the collection which is all set to revolutionize the Indian tile industry and are honored to be partnering the Prime Minister’s “Make in India” initiative. Gurgaon is going to get more than its share of fun this summer! Fun City, the global leisure and entertainment division of the iconic Landmark Group, has revamped and officially relaunched its Ambience Mall, Gurgaon entertainment centre.

At a glittering launch event, which was attended by a host of prominent personalities, latest Bollywood child acting sensation, Harshaali Malhotra, of BajrangiBhaijaan fame, inaugurated the new look Fun City, along with children from a local NGO. Harshaali is a sensationally talented child actor who has taken the popularity charts by storm with her wonderful performance in Bajrangi Bhiajaan, a film that is among this year’s biggest hits.

Fun City at Ambience Mall in Gurgaon, now a humongous 15000 sq. feet play destination for families has been a huge hit ever since it launched. With the recent makeover, Fun City is the only family entertainment brand in India to have introduced the country’s largest soft play area called Play Zone. Designed for children ages 3 to 10, Play Zone offers kids the space to slide, run, climb, jump and develop their physical, social, mental and emotional skills. Celebrating The MAKE IN INDIA dream

It was indeed a celebratory euphoria of our magnificent country and its multi-faceted treasures

– a dynamic fashion presentation of the graduating batch of B.D.Somani institute of Art & Fashion Technology.

The graduating design students enthralled the industry stalwarts and fashion connoisseurs like fashion critic – Ms. Meher Castellino & celebrity fashion brigade , Shruti Sancheti, Nivedita Saboo, Neerusha Nikhat (Costume designer) Isha Bhansali (Fashion Editor- FEMINA), Mr. Naren Mukhi (Executive Committee Member C.I.A.E), Archana Kochhar, etc. They were all enthralled with the students innovative design skills and imaginative creativity.

Our Chief Guest, Hon. Dr. Kavita Gupta , Textile Commissioner of India and ace celebrity designer and fashion guru – Mr.Hemant Trevedi along with political figures like Hon. Mayor of Vasai-Virar Municipal Corp. Mrs. Pravina Thakur graced the event, cheering the new wave of graduating young designers.

Renowned celebrities like television actor Hussain Kuwajerwala closed the show for alumni designers Satyam Waghela and actress Hrishita Bhatt and her mother dazzled as the showstopper for designer Malika Durani. 

Top runway faces like Purva Rana, Anita Kumar, Surabhi Rao, Parul Duggal, Pooja Bhamrah, Nayan, Taher, Shahnawaz Alam etc strutted the student’s dynamic creations.

The second year collection of smart street wear entitled –Postal Pitara created the maximum buzz and stole most of the awards. In the first year category Whispering Whites, an all white resort wear bagged many awards along with pastel festive wear collection entitled Victorian Promises and In-Jean-Ous Jodhpur. The ultra cute nautical collection – Cruise Chaos for kids wear was a clear winner amongst the audience.

The graduating batch of BTEC third year created magic with their two dynamic collections– ‘In-Jean-ous Jodhpur, which redefined denim into luxurious Indian trousseau designs and ‘Santhal Beats’, a funky digitally printed street wear reviving tribal paintings from Orissa. Designed around the theme ‘BTEC Walk of Pride’, the spectacular collection showcased the enormous talent of the young BTEC designers. On the occasion, Ms. Smita Chaudhary, Director, Pearson India and Mr. Kevin John, RDM, Pearson India, were felicitated for their valuable contribution towards the association with B.D. Somani.

BTEC, the internationally recognized work-related qualifications from Pearson, aim to enhance the skill-set and employability quotient of students in the fields of fashion, art and design. BTEC is accepted by over 200 prestigious universities across US, UK and Australia for direct entry into degree courses and is also recognized by professional bodies and international employers.

Under the star Alumni category, rising emerging talent namely – Harshal Gala, Satyam Waghela, Malika Durani, Shilpa Chaurasia and Hetashree & John showcased their premium debut line. Also, showcased were collection by our fashion partners – along with our fashion partners Manish Reshamwala, Shraddha Vora & C Singh. 

It was another proud moment for the institute’s charming director Mrs.Aradhana Somani on yet another successful silhouettes edition. The dynamic runway presentation was directed by ace choreographer Utsav Dholakia and Editors Delight became the online media partners for the event. 

It was indeed a mesmerizing fashion journey captivating the audience with sheer hard work and amazing creativity from the future of our fashion industry!

Book Review: Ananya – a journey towards light

The leading character Ananya, is a sweet little 5 year old girl, around whom the entire story revolves. The book is well divided into sections which are narrated by the characters:

Paulomi – Ananya’s best friend

Shobhana – her Mother, who adopted her

Anand – Shobhana’s husband and originally Ananya’s maternal uncle who later in the story adopts her as a daughter.

The book is a fiction, but is based on the fact of life that we are all derived from a supernatural energy within ourselves and the moment you reach that and understand to control, you achieve eternity. Life is all the more about the soul than the body.

Ananya is a 5 year old girl, who lost her parents one by one and is thus being considered a cursed soul. She was then raised by her maternal aunt Shobhana who took care of her more than she did for her son. Shobhana got divorced because of the same reason. Parents are not less than God for kids and kids believe in them.

Ananya is an Atheist who never believed in god. One fine day her friend Paulomi invites her to a Durga Puja celebration. Ananya felt something strange there, a post which she had a dream where she saw a lady near a light. She felt a connection with her and thus started searching and trying to find out whom she was. She started to behave a little odd and disturbed. She stared meditating and to try at every opportunity to find out the reason behind that lady and the dream. She met a few astrologers and all and claimed to be able to talk to the dead.

She was basically trying to reach to her energy, to her spirit guide unknowingly. And too much of digging between the lines made her sick and scared of the dark. The confusion got created as to, she is trying to reach to someone or someone is trying to reach her.

Shobhana after trying a lot of things finally takes charge of the situation and finds out what all has happened. She educates Ananya about the inner energies and the way she needs to get control over them.

A beautifully written short story of 150 pages, however, there was a printing error with repetition of 5 pages and omission of 5. Being the first book by Urmila Deshpande, it shares the thought that everything from the childhood is well-remembered by the child and plays a role in life ahead. A few grammatical and typing errors exist, but can be overlooked.

Launch: Freezing Hair Iron at Pachouli Spa and Wellness

Gone are the days when the hair cuticles were closed using heat. The new technology is in the town with a freezing iron, which gives you lovely texture of your hair and leave you fall in love with it. The smooth effect stays till you do 2 washes and makes you look pretty with well manageable hair. The texture of the hair goes smooth and with regular seating can lead you to have a great look and feel of your hair.IMG_4040

 Launched in April at Pachouli Spa and Wellness by Preeti Seth, it is one of its own in the city. Freezing iron sessions depends on your hair texture and can range between 3-8 sessions with the costing of INR 2499 per session and INR 3499 per session if taken along a hair spa. It is advised to be repeated every 2-3 months, depending on the hair quality.

What is it?
 It is a hair waxing treatment where the hair is washed and then a wax is applied and a freezing iron, with ice is used to close the cuticles of the hair to treat breakage and hair fall and to get a hair growth. An advanced version of using the ice pack or ice towel, this technology makes sure to work on the quality and texture of the hair to leave them smooth and shiny.

 Procedure:
 It takes around 1hour 20 mins to complete one seating where the hair is washed and then a wax is applied and made to set using an infrared machine. And then the iron is used with ice on it to give the smooth effect.

Designer Abhishek Gupta launches his flagship store in New Delhi

Well known for his beautiful ensembles, the leading fashion designer Abhishek Gupta launched his flagship store in Delhi on 27th April 2016. Located at Defence Colony, the store comprises of his latest ensembles for both men and women.

Abhishek has also curated a special Listening Room with high end audio equipment’s. The store embodies his approach in creating signature styles that are contemporary yet deeply rooted in Indian craft. Painted in a deep charcoal tone with an overlay of gold foil detailing, geometric patterns in varying scale across mediums gives a modern and edgy vibe to the store.
